Tiny Steps privacy policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Tiny Steps is a Chrome extension made by PlanDHD. It helps you break a task into small steps and focus on one step at a time. This policy explains what information it handles and where that information goes.

The short version

Information stored on your device

Tiny Steps saves these in your browser's extension storage on your device (chrome.storage.local):

Breakdowns are made by code built into the extension, not by an online AI service. Clearing a task deletes only that task and its steps. Your settings, the daily count and the saved unlock status stay until you remove the extension, which deletes everything it stored.

Highlighted text

If you highlight text on a page and choose "Break this into steps" from the right-click menu, Tiny Steps reads only that highlighted text (up to 300 characters) and turns it into a task on your device. It doesn't read anything else on the page, and the text isn't sent anywhere.

Focus pill on web pages

When you ask to show the focus pill, Tiny Steps adds a small box to the tab you're on, showing your current step and timer. It only does this on that tab, only when you ask, and it doesn't read or collect the page's content.

Notifications

Tiny Steps shows Chrome notifications when your focus timer ends or a right-click breakdown is ready. These are created on your device.

Payments and the lifetime unlock (ExtensionPay and Stripe)

Tiny Steps uses ExtensionPay to sell and check the A$9 lifetime unlock. This is the only outside service it talks to.

What happens:

Like any website, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive standard connection information such as your IP address and browser type when these requests are made. As the seller, we may see the purchase records ExtensionPay and Stripe give sellers, such as your email address, the date and the amount. We use these only to provide the unlock and to help with support or refunds. We never see your full card number.

If you never click Unlock, Tiny Steps doesn't create an install key and makes no requests to extensionpay.com. Only the install date is saved, in your browser.

ExtensionPay and Stripe have their own privacy policies:

What we don't do

Tiny Steps isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change how Tiny Steps handles information, we'll update this policy and the date above before the change goes out.
